Flat Iron Travel Case

This past weekend I worked on a pattern for a Flat Iron Travel Case. What is the last thing
you usually pack? Your flat iron. And it's usually hot, at least mine is. I used to take a wash
cloth to wrap it up in, until a few years ago, my friend Elaine gave me one for Christmas
and I loved it. I just tweaked her design by adding a divider, outside pocket and a liner.
I used fabric with a vinyl coating for the outside, thermal batting and regular cotton for the
liner. If you'd like a pattern, they are available from either Chicken Feed Quilts, or myself.

One more picture from Vegas

This is what used to be an open bar, and now is a pantry with a doorway into the laundry room attached to the garage for easy access.

House Arrest in Vegas

So I went to Las Vegas to help my sister Nola paint her new house.  It was previously pinky beige throughout.  We totally updated it with new colors.  Benjamin Moore Aura paint was our paint of choice.  We used HC-45 (shaker beige) as the main hallway color.  HC-77 (alexandria beige) as the front entry.  HC-86 (kingsport gray) as the backsplash color for the tiles.  HC-102 (clarksville gray) for the master bedroom.
This is a 3640 sq ft Bungalow and we painted most of it in a week.  The floor was Travertine tile.  The carpet was a nice beige with a few dk brown threads through out.  The countertops were a nice dark granite.  The plumbing fixtures were the same pinky beige.  But we replace them with white toilets, stainless steal in the kitchen and white sinks.
Here are some before and after pictures!

I do know how Martha Stewart must have felt on house arrest.  Because I didn't leave the house much.  Only to go buy our Craigslist purchases (which were fabulous).  I did torture my sister on the last day by spending 1 1/2 hours in a Burlington Coat Factory store!

Work Work Work.  Check out my ankle bracelet (for my parole officer to know if I escaped)

No internet at the new house so I had to sneak in some internet time at the Wal-Mart McyD's
